Safeguarding

Alder Grove CofE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding Policy and Prevent Policy, both can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare.

We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

Our Safeguarding Team are as follows:

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Miss R Scales

Deputy DSLs: Mr P Theobald, Mrs E Thomas and Mrs L Fothergill.

Safeguarding governor: Mr G Terefenko.

Reporting safeguarding concerns
If you have any concerns regarding safeguarding (including any of the main forms abuse), please contact safeguarding@aldergrove.wokingham.sch.uk. We have a Whistleblowing Policy which is available on our website in the 'Policies' section as well.

Network monitoring
Please note that, in line with the latest safeguarding guidance in KCSIE 2023, we now monitor our networks much more closely (with support from our IT Provider) as part of our monitoring and filtering responsibilities. Our WIFI systems are monitored by our Internet Service Provider (ISP), IT Support and Designated Safeguarding Leads. Any device connected to our network (school or personal) will be monitored for user, web browsing, IP address and searching. By connecting to our WIFI systems, you are agreeing to this monitoring protocol.
