Statutory School Inspections

SIAMS Inspection

SIAMS Report

We are delighted to share the outcome of our Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS), which took place on 12 June 2026.

The inspection recognised that Alder Grove Church of England Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.

What is SIAMS?
SIAMS is the national inspection framework for Church of England schools. It evaluates how effectively a school's Christian vision shapes its culture, values, relationships and decision-making, and how this enables pupils and adults to flourish. It considers areas such as leadership, collective worship, Religious Education, inclusion, spirituality, wellbeing and the school's service to its community.

As a Church of England school, SIAMS is an important opportunity to reflect on how our vision is lived out in practice and the impact it has on the lives of our children, families and staff.

Inspection Outcome
Our vision is:

"For each child to be like a tree ‘planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season’ (Psalm 1:3). We are committed to providing an environment that nurtures the growth of every child – academically, spiritually, emotionally and socially – so they can flourish and reach their full potential."

The report highlights a number of notable strengths, including:

  • Committed and skilled leaders who keep the Christian vision at the heart of their work and decision-making.

  • A highly inclusive culture where pupils and adults from a range of backgrounds enjoy a deep sense of belonging and community.

  • Strong relationships and high-quality professional development that enable adults to flourish personally and professionally.

  • Meaningful opportunities for pupils to serve others and make a positive difference within their community.

  • Exceptional care and support for pupils and families, ensuring that barriers to flourishing are identified and addressed.

  • The inspector also recognised the pride that pupils, staff and families have in being part of the Alder Grove community, describing a tangible sense of belonging, welcome and inclusion throughout the school.

What the Inspector Said
The report contains many affirming comments about our school community, including:

"The vision weaves the school together into a community. People feel proud to be part of this inclusive Church school."

"Staff and pupils are inspired to live out the vision in their daily work and lives."

"Parents and carers are grateful for the pastoral care they receive."

"The Christian vision inspires staff in a range of roles to respond to the needs of pupils and their families."

Looking Forward
As with all inspections, the report identifies areas for further development. These focus on:

  • Enhancing opportunities within the curriculum for spiritual flourishing.

Extending opportunities for pupils to learn about issues and causes beyond their local community.

We welcome these next steps and will continue to build on the many strengths identified within the report.

Thank You
We would like to thank our pupils, staff, leadership team, governors, parents, carers, church partners and The Keys Academy Trust for their contribution to this achievement.

This report reflects the dedication, care and commitment shown every day across our school community. We are particularly proud that the inspection recognised the strong relationships, inclusive culture and deep sense of belonging that make Alder Grove such a special place to learn, work and grow.

Most importantly, we are delighted that the report confirms what we strive for every day – a school where children and adults are known, valued and able to flourish.
